Gentoo 2007

You may or may not know that I've been a long time Gentoo user, however as of late I haven't used it much since most of my work is done on my Mac and Windows box. However, with the release of Gentoo 2007 I think its time to fire up the old partitioner and emerge until the cows come home. Actually the release of 2007 normally doesn't mean much when you deal with Gentoo. Why may you ask? Well this is the reason why I like the Gentoo distribution over all others, the portage is your one stop shop for pretty much any piece of software you'd want. I know all about the apt gets and the rpms of the world, but portage has been rock solid since the day I've used it. The biggest problem use to be the install process, which was a manual install, but I loved that process basically because it taught you so much about Linux. In any case check it out at the official site here.
